About
AMIMON is a fabless semiconductor company pioneering wireless uncompressed high-definition video for universal connectivity among CE, PC, mobile and professional video devices. Amimon is a founding member of the WHDI™ consortium (www.whdi.org), along with Hitachi, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp Sony and LG Electronics.
Amimon's solutions are powered by Amimon's revolutionary "Video Modem" technology, allowing seamless connectivity between any video source to HDTVs and multimedia projectors, at a quality equivalent to that achieved with wired interfaces such as HDMI™. Zero latency, low power, low cost and small footprint designs allow embedding of Amimon’s solutions inside Notebooks, TVs, STBs, projectors, tablets and soon into Smart Phones. The wireless transmission is done in the 5GHz unlicensed band of uncompressed HD video streams, with equivalent video data rates of up to 3 Gbps (1080p), using 40 MHz of bandwidth in compliance with FCC regulations. Amimon's products transmit video for ranges of up to 100 feet through walls, and have a latency of less than one millisecond. All other wireless solutions are limited to delivering compressed video such as MPEG, which is typically not available at the output of most consumer electronics video devices.
AMIMON’s chipsets, modules and reference designs comply with the WHDI™ standard, enabling smooth integration for multiple wireless enabled sources and HDTVs.
Headquartered in Herzlia, Israel, AMIMON is a venture-backed startup with a management team comprised of leading experts in semiconductor, video and modem technology. The company has offices in Santa Clara, California, Tokyo and Taipei.
