AMIMON to Demonstrate Video-Aware Modem at Digital Hollywood for Uncompressed Wireless Transmission of HD Video
CEO Yoav Nissan-Cohen to Address the Realities of Wireless HDTV and Present a New Technology for Wireless HDMI™
SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 22, 2006 - AMIMON Inc. will demonstrate it’s Video-Aware Modem at the Digital Hollywood Conference to be held at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel on March 27 – 30, 2006. The key to eliminating the last stretch of wire between a DVD player or set top box and a high definition flat-panel TV or projector is to wirelessly transmit the original high-definition (HD) video signal, uncompressed and uncompromised.
AMIMON demonstrated this technology to major consumer electronics firms in Japan and Korea last Fall, and at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.

A real time, uncompressed 1.5 Gbps video stream is required for HD video, which is impossible using any of the currently available wireless modem solutions such as 802.11n or UWB. In addition, compression and recompression schemes degrade video quality and add delay to the transmitted video stream. AMIMON’s WHDI™ (Wireless High-Definition Interface) delivers 720p and 1080i HD video with video data rates of up to 1.5 Gbps and latency of less than 1ms, to equal the quality of wired HD video.
